Quarterly Newsletter Issue 5, Q3 2022
Greetings
Hello Family and Friends!
Whether you vacationed or staycationed, we hope you had a wonderful summer! Many of you are likely back in the swing of things with a new school year, prepping for a lovely fall and looking forward to the holiday season. Sounds wonderful!
We have been very busy wrapping up our first fundraiser of this year. Paul’s Move-A-Thon: Walk, Run, Ride & Roll, took place during the month of July and concluded with a Unity Day on July 31.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Move-A-thon, whether as a participant or a donor. As many of you may know, Paul was an avid sports lover and biked religiously until his illness. We wanted to honor his legacy through movement—together—and we did! We are so proud to share that we successfully raised $10,000.00 from 121 registrants and donors to help support our next round of scholarship recipients. Whether you walked your neighborhood, explored on your bike, swam in your favorite pool, rolled along on your favorite trail, bent into a yoga pose, or did any activity to get your endorphins pumping – you did it!
Our goal was MOVEMENT, and we are so thankful that you chose to MOVE with us. Your pledges to move during the month of July, will allow us to continue to impact the lives of underrepresented youth and adult learners destined for higher education. THANK YOU for helping make our vision for a fitness-focused fundraiser a reality!
To culminate our month of moving, we hosted a UNITY DAY workout on Sunday, July 31st. Nike Master Trainer, David Carson, took us through a 30-minute virtual workout that was suited for all fitness levels. If you missed it or you’re looking to relive the burn, you can still click here to access the playlist Dave used for our workout. We’re still jamming to the songs!
Upcoming News
To keep you in the know, our next milestones will include kicking off our second fundraiser (we promise it will be fun!), opening our scholarship applications and then reviewing applications for our third round of recipients. After giving away an incredible $32,000 in scholarships to eight deserving students for the ‘22-23 school year, we look forward to doing it again! We will once again invite students from Notre Dame Academy (Toledo, Ohio), Saint Joseph’s Academy (Cleveland, Ohio), and the City of Light Church (St. Louis, Missouri) to apply. Follow our Facebook page and the PNRALSF website for more information on the next scholarship cycle.

Note from the Board President
Greetings all,
As always, I hope this email finds you and your families doing exceptionally well.
I would be remiss if I didn’t also give a MAJOR shout out to all who donated and/or participated in this year’s Paul’s Move-A-Thon (MAT) event. You showed up 121 strong on day 1 (July 1), you motivated others to keep moving, and you showed up stronger and showed out on day 31— UNITY DAY! Thank you for taking time to care about your health and a good cause at the same time. And, now we move forward in hopes of ending the year just as we did with the MAT -- stronger than when we started. We are striving to meet or exceed our 2022 level of support to underrepresented students. I hope we can count on you in the weeks ahead to help us achieve this goal!
All the best,
Vanessa (Van) Randolph, Paul Nelson Randolph Abundant Life Foundation Board President
